It's good to see you submitted again this year. Your songs are always refreshingly different. I'm glad you were up to the Songs from Scratch challenge!

This was your first try at lyrics in English?! How did that change your approach to the song?

This was indeed my first try at writing English lyrics. The hardest part was trying to determine the key ideas to encapsulate in the song (since I wasn't too familiar with the Wizard of Oz movie). After a lot of effort, I came up with words that try to emphasize the role of faith and fate in one's life. The words that rang a bell were "It's all within" and "All Roads Lead Home." Once I nailed that down I had a much easier time coming up with the rest of the lyrics. The other difficulty was in the song structure. With indian songs I am used to a particular structure that was missing here. In typical indian music (bollywood or otherwise), the first two/four lines are repeated after each stanza/verse. The lyrics for All Roads Lead Home didn't lend themselves to that structure, so I had to come up with a different approach in the tune.

This is really lovely. It's pretty how you have the different instruments weaving in and out of your arrangement. The flute sound is so nice. Great job!

Beautiful job on this. It's cool that you had to stretch so far to get here. You ended up with the best of both worlds. I guess music really is the one true universal language.
