This is my song for the MPR Songs from Scratcj. After helping record Jane's song (check it out, it's much better) the pressure was on in our house for me to submit something also. I had a hard time with the lyrics and really appreciate those who can write them well- I finally just wrote a list of a lot of words that reminded me of the movie and tried to weave those into the song. It's probably not subtle enough, but hey, it's done in time.

Pressure is on! The pressure paid off. This has a good-summer-night-in-the-country-feel. When you say you worked on Jane's song, do you mean this one? Collaboration is at the heart of a lot of music...

"My friends lacked the courage, the heart and the brains so they say." plays well, and I might just walk around singing that and winking at people.

I like the galloping country feel. A happier Kansas feel than a lot of the desolate sounds of many of the submissions. Not that I have any problem with desolate, but this was a refreshing break. Good song.
